Sophie Monet’s jewelry makes one dream of long walks on the beach, salty skin and blissful times with friends and family.

Lucky us! We got invited into her universe of exotic woods and precious stones and metals, for a jewelry making workshop in her studio at Villa Lena.

Her hands quickly turn pieces of wire into a loops which accompany beads such as pearls, marble and glass. Adding mahogany wood the abstract form miraculously turns into a pair of earrings you never want to take off again.Sophie makes the complexity of creating jewelry look so easy. Here she walks us through the first steps of her everyday process.SM_08

With so many materials to use, we understand the endless possibilities jewelry has to offer. Oliver- Selim Boualam of the design studio Butternutten AG creates earpieces shaped like little temples and fellow artist Ima-Abasi Okon works on an elaborate keychain.
