Villa Lena products are inspired by the wild, mystical nature of Tuscany that surrounds our agriturismo and winery. On our wine labels, for example, you’ll notice three key creatures known to have roamed our grounds: a wise owl, a fierce dragon, and a magical unicorn. Our red wine is 100% organic and made with the typical Tuscan Sangiovese grape, a centuries-old variety used in the most desired wines of the region. Two hectares of vineyards are pocketed around the estate, nestled among woodlands away from the roads. Our agricultural team carefully cultivates the vineyards using biodynamic and organic methods, seeding other plants between the vines to increase biodiversity. South-West facing, our mix of old and new vines soaks up the hottest rays of the late afternoon sun, filling the grapes with intense flavor. Each harvest is hand-picked and produced in a local winery.

100% Pinot Grigio

In addition to our home-grown products, we also create a very special sparkling rosé in collaboration with Villa Marcello in Veneto, a family-run business that has been making wine for over 600 years. It comes from a careful selection of Pinot Grigio, managed with minimal intervention and the utmost environmental responsibility. After two fermentations and a four-month aging process, this wine takes on a full body, distinctive flavors, and exquisite freshness—all in a rich pink color matching our famous Tuscan sunsets. This drink is a passion project of ours; building on the immense heritage of sparkling wines in Italy with an added contemporary twist, it perfectly sums up the experience of staying at Villa Lena.
Tasting notes: white fruits, summer berries.

"Villa Lena Olive Oil is lively and full of aromas of fresh Tuscan grass and green herbs. I love the flavou r as it’s robust like its Tuscan landscape, the fragrant olives are local from the Villa Lena property where they’re treated with love and kindness from their agriculture team. This is what makes this olive oil a true gem."

— Chef Kristopher Edel from HOTPAN, NYC

Our olive oil is produced using organic and biodynamic principles from olives grown and harvested exclusively on the Villa Lena estate. Scattered over 500 hectares of wild, unpolluted terrain, our trees grow at an altitude of 300 meters above sea level. This means more extreme temperatures than average Tuscan weather, resulting in stronger, hardier trees that produce olives with a more robust and spicy flavor.

Harvesting takes place in the autumn, typically from September to November, depending on the year’s conditions. Due to our challenging terrain, the olives are always harvested by hand using ancient techniques. Nets are placed beneath the trees, which are gently shaken to dislodge the olives. Within 12 hours after harvesting, the olives are taken to the mill to be cold-pressed. Stored in a tank to allow the sediment to fall to the bottom, the few-weeks-old oil is then bottled and ready to enjoy. Given the localized nature of our production, we produce a total of 2,000 bottles per season, ensuring that each taste of oil becomes a coveted embodiment of our unique Tuscan terrain.
