Kids at Villa Lena

Your family-friendly agriturismo holiday in Tuscany

When traveling to Tuscany with little ones, there’s no better place to stay than a family-friendly agriturismo. A holiday at Villa Lena includes fun for all ages, with plenty of spaces—such as a farm-to-table restaurant, not-for-profit art foundation, and 500 hectares in the Tuscan countryside—for kids and adults to explore on their own and enjoy together.

Book your vacation in our Renacchi apartments, designed specifically for families, and join your children for an all-ages pasta-making experience, creative workshops, or a long, relaxing day at our panoramic pool. Need some time to yourself? Take advantage of our babysitting services, so your kids can delight in an afternoon of playtime while you practice yoga or sip a glass of Villa Lena rosé in your soaking tub. At the end of the day, come back together for a beautiful sunset dinner as a family.

Family-friendly accommodations at Villa Lena

Renacchi, our restored farmhouse accommodation, comprises five apartments sharing a large grassy lawn with a pool and playground. Surrounded by idyllic Tuscan woodlands, this intimate living space is ideal for families with children, offering extra peace and privacy while still being just a 10-minute walk away from our lively main hub.

Each two- to three-bedroom, art-filled apartment has a living space, full bathroom, air conditioning throughout, and a kitchen equipped with a fridge and induction stove. Little ones will love swimming, sliding, and swinging at the poolside play area. Renacchi’s amenities allow for a genuine experience of family life in the Tuscan countryside, in which you can live in your own charming apartment and stroll through olive groves to our restaurant, artistic and culinary workshops, and more.

Facilities for children

Villa Lena has a host of hubs for kids. Spend a laid-back day at our main San Michele pool, which has sun loungers and a panoramic swimming pool for adults, as well as a separate pool for children with toys and inflatables. Order a tasty burger or Caesar salad from our poolside menu, then get together for a game of ping pong, table football, or pétanque. When you’re ready for some time indoors, little ones are welcome anywhere on our estate, but they’ll be especially happy in the library at Fattoria. There we have coloring and drawing materials, children’s books, and a cartoon screening area. And since our magical natural setting consists of centuries-old olive trees, wildflowers, rolling hills, and an ancient Etruscan park sprawled across 500 hectares, there is always new turf for kids to explore.

Activities for kids and parents

Each season, Villa Lena hosts a group of international artists in residence, who share their talents in all-ages workshops including painting, clay building, flower crown making, and more. Kids will feel like a modern-day Botticelli as they collaborate with other participants, working with a variety of new materials in a fun and creative environment. This chance for little ones to experience Tuscany’s rich artistic heritage first-hand—on the same land that once hosted many of the world’s greatest artists—is rare and unforgettable. Have a budding chef in the family? Our lively event schedule always includes something in the culinary realm, such as a homemade pasta class, gelato workshop, or Italian cookie lesson.

Kid-friendly activities are offered on a weekly basis, but when holidays come around, Villa Lena has extra plans for the kids. Stay with us around Halloween, Easter, or Ferragosto for the ultimate family vacation with creative, educational, and fun experiences for little ones. Take a look at our What’s On page to find out more.

Family dining at Villa Lena

Nourishing, kid-friendly dining happens all day long at Villa Lena. It starts with breakfast at our San Michele restaurant, with a buffet full of freshly squeezed juices and homemade pastries by chef Beatrice. This continues into lunch and dinner, where all menus have kids’ options and dishes made from our own organic fruits and vegetables. Our head gardener, Gigi, is always happy to show little ones and their parents the seasonal produce growing on our biodynamic farm, helping kids understand where their food comes from. (And don’t worry, we always have gelato.)

Extra conveniences for kids and parents

Villa Lena aims to make traveling with kids as seamless as possible. We provide English-speaking nanny services, as well as car seats for transfer service to and from our estate. Hotel bookings always come with the option to install baby cots and extra beds, and if you’re just dining with us, we’re always happy to set up a kids’ table with baby chairs, games, and crowd-pleasing bites. And to make a holiday for the whole family more accessible, children up to 3 years old stay at Villa Lena for free, kids ages 4 to 12 receive a discounted rate, and our 7×6 Family Special allows groups to book a seven-night stay for the price of six.

Whether you’re splashing around in the pool, playing a game of table tennis, or enjoying a cup of homemade gelato, we’re passionate about making every stay, meal, and activity at Villa Lena a fun and welcoming experience for the whole family.
