October 13th-17th

Let’s celebrate autumnal glory with a very special gathering – Enjoy togetherness and creativity in relation to nature and the environment at the uniquely artistic Villa Lena.

On this 5-days Tuscan adventure immerse yourself  in the abundance of autumn on a retreat that bridges the gap between art and nature, while connecting with like-minded people and experience the poetic aesthetic of botany, the joy of natural perfume and exploring the art of foraged ceramics with workshops led by Evalie Wagner, Merle Bergers of Lingua Planta and Abbie Adams.

Expect autumnal feasts at our farm to table restaurant, explore the organic orto and flower garden, the nearby wilderness and taste the olive oil and wines made on site. All set within the grounds of Villa Lena with access to the heated pool, thoughtfully designed communal spaces and panoramic views. About Contributors

Your host for the retreat EVALIE WAGNER is an Austrian visual artist and designer. Her interdisciplinary work is marked by a wide range of historical and aesthetic connotations and is situated in the space between the poetic and the conceptual. Evalie is focused on floral aesthetics and calls herself an avantgardener. Together you will go in search of plants, hear about their stories and create contemporary still lives from them.

MERLE BERGERS is the founder and perfumer of Lingua Planta. During her studies at the Design Academy Eindhoven, she became more and more fascinated by the possible reality of plant communication. Inspired by the volatile substances that plants use for messages, Lingua Planta has its roots deep in scientific research but found an aesthetic translation in perfumes. Follow her on this sensory journey into the world of natural perfumes and create your own one.

ABBIE ADAMS is one of the current artist & curator in residence at Villa Lena. Her projects deal with recontextualising our relationships to materials; both ancient and contemporary and explore the boundary intersections between craft, design, art and science. In her two part workshops participants will craft highly local ceramics, wood fired on the grounds of Villa Lena. Create your own sculptural objects inspired by the rolling natural abundance of the countryside.

Madeleine Auvinen is an empowerment coach, yoga teacher and reiki practitioner from Sweden, currently living in Amsterdam. While she initially started practicing yoga for the physical benefits in her late teens, it has expanded into a tool for healing and self connection over the years. During her time spent in NYC Madeleine deepened her practice and found inspiration from different teachers and lineages of yoga. She completed her 200hr Vinyasa yoga teacher training with The Sacred Fig in Portugal in early 2021. Her Vinyasa classes are energizing and draw influences from various styles of yoga such as Hatha, Katonah and Jivamukti, with a good amount of pranayama and meditation. She also teaches restorative classes, Yoga Nidra andm oon rituals. All levels and bodies are welcome to join her classes to rejuvenate, reconnect and
find inner peace.
