The abundance of beautiful wild flowers, grasses and foliage around Villa Lena made for a series of hugely popular and successful spring flower workshops, which were part of the program organised by the art residency on the grounds. The workshops started with foraging on the estate, amidst olive groves and San Giovese vineyard in the Tuscan sun, then moved into one of the artist’s studios for the arrangements. From simple Ikebana inspired design to explosions of colour and scent to flower crowns of bendy olive branches sprayed gold.  Florist in residence Sophia Moreno-Bunge gave everyone the confidence to create something unique in a collection of odd vases, glasses, jam jars and found objects.
