A LETTER FROM IGOR: CHIEF MISCHIEF OFFICER
Hey folks,
It’s that time again. Time to sniff the air, chase a few wild scents, and gently remind you… it’s time to come back to Tuscany. I’ve been roaming the grounds all winter like a four-legged philosopher. Sure, I’ve had some lovely chats with Paul from the florist team (mostly about peonies and pheasants), but I do miss disturbing guests in residence. My soul thrives on mischief.
How I long to sneak up on a loved-up couple lounging on the San Michele terrace and snatch their aromatic croissant. They never see it coming. Or play the charming fool with the children, only to eyeball their sugary French toast and berries with precision and intent. You may think, “Dogs don’t eat berries.” Ah, but I do—especially when they’re dusted with sugar.
When Villa Lena opens in spring, there’s plenty of action for a dog like me. I’ve been its unofficial guardian for nearly a decade (unpaid, I might add), patrolling the pools, the artist studios, the panoramic terraces—nosing my way into places I probably shouldn’t be. If breakfast fails me, I wander into the studios. Artists are good people. They snack often. I stare deeply into their souls, attempting canine mind control: “Paint a wild boar. With me. Heroically chasing it.” So far, no success. But one day…
Anyway. Enough about me (impossible, I know). The point is: Villa Lena is waking up again. The grass is greener, the artists are packing their paints, and I’m limbering up for another season of croissant thievery and artistic consultation. I can’t wait to sniff you all soon.
Yours in breakfast and loyalty,
Igor
Chief Mischief Officer
Villa Lena
