I love it. So many smells. I can stick my nose into mountains of leaves, burying myself deeper until I hit that delicious damp earth. Or I can dart into the garden, chasing the last of the summer lizards \u2014 slower now, poor things lose their edge when the temperature drops. Personally, I feel great. Cooler weather means I stop panting like an idiot and get to grow my full winter coat. Very distinguished, I must say. And nothing beats a sip of rainwater straight from a muddy puddle. Don\u2019t judge me.<\/p>\n<p><!-- TOP: 2 IMAGES SIDE BY SIDE (FULL SIZE \/ SAME HEIGHT) --><\/p>\n<div style=\"display: flex; gap: 16px; width: 100%; margin: 26px 0 22px 0;\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: calc((100% - 16px)\/2); height: 460px; object-fit: cover; display: block;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.villa-lena.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/f7e385c1-ca8f-5f40-6b03-07913420d343.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: calc((100% - 16px)\/2); height: 460px; object-fit: cover; display: block;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.villa-lena.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/18d7822e-c941-074a-f6b0-869c297c12f8.png\" alt=\"\" \/><\/div>\n<p>Now, apparently, autumn is the white truffle season. The humans go wild for it. Me? I\u2019m more of a tagliata guy. They call me \u201cThe Truffle Dog\u201d \u2014 which is generous, considering I\u2019ve never actually been trained to find the things. They tried, sort of. One hand with <!-- TEXT + IMAGE SIDE BY SIDE (MAILCHIMP-STYLE) --><\/p>\n<div style=\"display: flex; gap: 32px; width: 100%; margin: 28px 0 22px 0; align-items: flex-start;\">\n<p><!-- LEFT: TEXT --><\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 55%;\">\n<p>Still, I do enjoy the truffle walks. Off into the woods we go, all dappled light and crunchy leaves, full of mysterious smells and secret pathways. Only sound of birds around and just simply nature. Other dogs are sniffing out treasure. But me? Off the leash? I chase deer. Or foxes. Or rabbits. I\u2019m not picky.<\/p>\n<p>At some point, when I do go off on my chase, the humans start yelling my name like it\u2019s the apocalypse. I ignore them for a while, obviously \u2014 I pretend I&#8217;m not that smart of a dog. But I always come back \u2014 eventually. Once they\u2019re hoarse enough and sound like they\u2019ve lost all hope.
