The estate cultivates 5,000 Frantoio olive Trees aged between 30 and 100 years old, which were specifically planted in 8 different areas thus resulting in various exposure to sun, rainfall and soil consistency, adding to the variety for our unique blend. Trees are hand pruned, the olives are hand picked and milled within just twelve hours of harvesting.
To qualify as Tuscan extra virgin olive oil, PGI must have an acidity of less than 0.6 g per 100g, with two of the most desirable chemical attributes being high Polyphenol counts and Oleic acid levels. Villa Lena Olive Oil has an exceptionally low-acidity level of 0.3g with high levels of Polyphenol resulting in a full but well-balanced flavour.
It is fragrant, pleasantly spicy and peppery, with fruity aromas, hints of green apple, artichokes and a lasting almond taste.
The grapes grown on the Villa Lena estate are harvested by hand and fermented using local or naturally occurring yeasts.

Bright copper in colour, with hints of melon, roses, yellow peach and a mouth quenching acidity. A feint bitter note on the finish, which makes this fruity wine pleasantly dry.
2014/15 Organic, Sangiovese, Tuscany
A young and bright wine, with fresh flavours of strawberry and sour cherry. Its high acidity and well developed tannin is a perfect pairing for any Italian dish
Both black and white truffles grow wild on the Villa Lena estate amid the roots of oak ash and white poplar trees. Foraging tours are run with local guides and Lagotto Romagnola dogs in both summer and autumn months. There is also the opportunity to learn how to prepare and cook the truffles with our chef-in-residence and of course taste the results. Available on select days – please see events calendar.

Truffle Day Package
Spend the morning foraging for truffles followed by an afternoon learning to make fresh pasta with the chef in residence. A late lunch is then serves of fresh truffle pasta, truffle antipasti and salad. €60 per person.
