An Update

Our website is currently having a revamp and some of the information you will find here is not yet up to date to reflect the operating changes we are making at Villa Lena. To find out more about staying with us this year, read our latest newsletter below. If you have any questions or wish to book a stay please contact

Buongiorno a tutti!

Villa Lena is just the countryside getaway we all need right now – our remote location and vast grounds, spreading 500 hectares, mean everyone has plenty of space to move around freely. There’s no better place to unwind, relax and celebrate life – whether you choose to sip a spritz on the terrace or get your hands dirty in the garden, you will find yourself completely submersed in the beautiful Tuscan nature, the perfect place to escape.

We have made lots of changes to offer the most suitable holiday options possible and give you peace of mind when booking travel during these challenging times. We now have a fully flexible cancellation policy and an array of different offers to help you get the best deals. A new offering of long term stays will allow guests to book our self-catering apartments on an accommodation only basis and make the most of competitive rates with flexible booking options including a weekend half-board package, so you can still always treat yourself to the occasional dinner at the restaurant.

When we reopen, our San Michele restaurant will at first be operating a limited, weekend only service. We will replace the usual buffet style breakfast with an irresistible a la carte menu delivered to your room (the perfect excuse to enjoy breakfast in bed), takeaway picnic baskets will be available for lunch (ideal to enjoy in the olive groves or medieval parkland at Toiano Vecchio) and for dinner you can expect exciting new additions to our farm-to-table menu including Wild Dining.

Our popular schedule of workshops and events will also be adapted to ensure safe distances are maintained between participants and there will be an increased emphasis on foraging and outdoor experiences. We will be operating with a reduced timetable but there will still be something for everyone – from artist-led experiences for the culturally curious, to food workshops for budding young chefs and our new ‘get your hands dirty’ session for the amateur gardeners amongst you.

Rest assured that all of these changes are temporary – we look forward to adding more of our usual services as guidelines change and we are able to do so safely. For now, we are just focusing on the basic ingredients of what is truly the Villa Lena experience: wild nature, open spaces, delicious food and comfy stylish rooms.

Villa Lena offers a refreshing mix of barefoot luxury and curated hospitality and we can accommodate everyone from solo-travellers and couples to large families and groups of all shapes and sizes, with a variety of flexible accommodation options and pets welcome to come too! Make the most of various family friendly offers, including kids under 3 stay for free, or gather a group of friends for a weekend getaway and take advantage of our offer for 3 nights for the price of 2.

We will be celebrating the end of lockdown with you, leaving a complimentary bottle of Villa Lena sparkling rosé in rooms. And we also want to continue to find ways to help those in need at this time, so 10% of proceeds from your booking will go towards UNICEF, supporting vulnerable children affected by coronavirus in Italy.

While we remain focused on providing our guests with the most incredible, creative experiences when they visit Villa Lena, our priority is the health and safety of everyone from the guests and artists to members of staff and the local community. Ahead of reopening, we’ve taken the time to establish new practices and processes in line with government guidelines and our own high standards to ensure we offer the safest environment possible. Our wonderful Housekeeping team will be maintaining their stringently high cleaning standards and introducing important new practices throughout the estate and we will continue to evolve and improve all of these measures as we go, fine-tuning them as needed.

Finally we want to say a huge thank you. We have been incredibly touched by all the support and well wishes we have received over the past few months. We feel incredibly lucky to have this wonderful community which is truly like a family to us, our guests and artists, past, present and future. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for sticking with us. We can’t wait to welcome you back to Villa Lena one day, hopefully very soon!

Love from
Villa Lena
